Marathon

Most of you have probably noticed that we have been without Rugger . He moved across the US last month and for the first time we were able to meet in person. He is now in his new location but, until he gets all moved in we have recruited another borg member to help out. Jump on over to the Scenario News page and welcome the new "keeper".

Oni

A few late Oni updates this morning. Two of the upates deal with all the activity concerning Halo. This cover disc that everyone is talking about also has some Oni mov's on it as well. Whether or not Bungie states these are meant to be out or not, it still makes one curious. Be sure to read Harry's post and go here for more info on the this "video".

November 17,19998:45p.m.

Halo

Yes, this Halo post is dated, but, I had to document this day. Another "furious" day for Halo. If the daily screenshots weren't enough, today we were able to see some shots from this new Halo movie. If you were one of the lucky few that saw the stills of the "handstand", then count your good fortune. What does all this mean? Instead of describing it, just follow this link.

Late update!! Now it appears all screenshots and movies and stills are gone. Head on over to our Halo site for more!

Marathon

The Marathon's Story page brings bad news for the Marathon hopeful... Doug Zartman says no toys for you this Christmas. Don't shoot the messenger, though.

As noted on our Myth page (imagine that!), Horsepants Productions has put up a teaser for a new Marathon TC. The concept is intriguing... go take a look.

The Archives are waking up again, it seems. Two new submissions; a 35-map netpack is updated, and a small demonstration of an interesting trick is shown. See what you can use!

Halo

The Halo SETI Marines have been refunded their missing units... last night, the team gained back over 1000 units, putting it within striking distance of the Bungie team. Join today, and see if you can push them over the top!

Looks like there might be a bit of internal struggle over at HBO. Is Wirehead playing tricks on the Halo community, or did Louis Wu simply overreact? You decide. Meanwhile, boys, settle down.

A great way to start the day seeing how this morning when I sat down to update a centipede came out from under my keyboard and decided to make his presence know by traveling across the top of the F keys. : )

The Physics Model Archive has a new Model of the Month... some pretty amazing effects! Grab it, and spruce up your gameplay.

This one is devoted to selling the latest Bungie offering, The Total Codex, consisting of all three Myth games (TFL, Soulblighter, and Chimera), two strategy guides, and a collection of user-created maps. November 6,1999 00:30a.m.

Marathon

The Big House keeps growing. The addition of some very nice projects has made this site one that should have been up long ago. We are still in the process of adding more, so this should be a daiy checkon any Marathoner's list.

The Archives has posted "Wail 2.0b1". This handy sound utility is the successor to the Marathon Sound Editor. It's a great file and it's made by Charles Lechasseur. (well know for his other Marathon utilities)

The Marathon's Story page has an official reply from MacWorld concerning Bungies position and MacWorld 2000. Very interesting post. It is also very nice to be able to mention that the Vidmaster page has been updated. It's still good to see these things being done especially 4 years after the game came out. Go take a look!

Myth

A sad update from horsepants ?? Along with some other catch up news.

The Big House grows some more... The Muerte Machine come on board. Check it out!

Oni 7:45a.m.

We start this morning with some pretty interesting Oni news. It seems that there is some confusion concerning an Oni PC Demo forum post . Matt Soell, with his ever vigilant effort chimes in to set the record straight.

There is also news concerning the Oni soundtracks over at mp3.com. Pretty cool to have the music of a game be so popular long before the game is due out.

November 4,1999 4:10p.m.

MacWorld Game Hall of Fame

In the December 1999 MacWorld Magazine, Bungie garners two honors in the yearly Game Hall of Fame roundup. Myth II wins the Best Real-Time Strategy Game Award, and Halo receives special mention for being a "Great Contender":

If we get the additional space, we may have to open a room dedicated solely to Bungie Software. Bungie's Halo, a beautifully rendered third-person war game, is on track to be everyone's game of the year - regardless of platform - in 2000. This 3-D, hardware-dependent game, featuring both single-player and multiplayer modes, takes place on an artificial, ring-shaped planet and pits humans against an alien race. Both races have access to a remarkable array of weapons and vehicles. Unlike many network games, Halo focuses on cooperative play. Bungie remains uncommitted to the number of players the game will support, but the company assured us that no fewer than 32 people will be able to play at the same time.

November 4,1999 4:00p.m.

Oni

Some late Oni news today. Along with the poll that was mentioned earlier today, there are some great forum posts today. Be sure not to the miss the latest mp3.com game soundtrack list. Oni tunes are moving up.

November 4,1999 8:50a.m.

Bungie in the News

As mentioned on the Story page, the Multi-Player Online Gaming site has a new poll asking who most impressed you this year. Go tell 'em it was Bungie!

Marathon

The Big House has generated quite a bit of interest early in its existence... guess we should have started this earlier. Keep an eye on the page for new clients! There are several in the works... as soon as the pages are uploaded, we'll make the links active.

Halo

Lots of news on the Marathon's Story page, and lots more on our own Halo page. (Hamish is keeping up admirably with Louis, Wirehead and Crux, it seems... we may need to fire them.) The halo forum is hopping. Seems if we're not careful, we're going to lose some of our Bungie (or ex-Bungie) representation. Ouch.

November 3,1999 8:25a.m.

Don't Mind Us, We're Confused

Well, the good news is, our nameservers are back up again. The bad news is, the boxes have all moved... so everyone who read yesterday's update and tried to get in via IP address is getting error messages... because the IP addresses have changed.

Bottom line: use our machine names again. (That is, if you're trying to get to our Myth site, go to http://myth.bungie.org/, not any IP address you saw listed somewhere.) We're very, very sorry for the confusion... all should be back to normal by tomorrow.

November 3,1999 8:25a.m.

Outage

Here is an update, if you are having some problems with our site. Thanks to the Battlecat for his help with this.

Hey it looks like bad weather on the East Coast may have trashed our name server. Whether or not it is the weather or not, it is still trashed none the less and you need to use some hard-nosed and bad-nasty IPs to contact us.

http://209.54.40.223/ is Oni
209.54.40.223 is hotline
http://209.54.40.233 is www.bungie.org

After that you tack on a site and you can usually go there, ex:

http://209.54.40.233/marathon/
http://209.54.40.233/bighouse/
http://209.54.40.233/archive/
http://209.54.40.233/halo/ etc.

This is temporary, when the name server comes back up it will be business as usual. Sorry for the inconvience.

November 3,1999 7:55a.m.

Outage

Currently, there seems to be some outages along the east coast. Since the Bungie Org DNS machines sit up on the east coast it is not presumptions to think that this could probably be the problem. Know that we are working on this problem and we should be back very soon. If you are reading this then you are one of the lucky few without the DNS hiccups.

November 2,1999 3:30p.m.

Halo

The Halo site has a late update today. After waiting for two days for permission, which all bungie org sites adhere to, our Halo site has posted some breaking news concerning another magazine article. Check out the Zartman quote on page 2 concerning the "players will be known by their specialty, i.e. tank driver, etc."

November 2,1999 7:00 a.m.

Marathon

The Marathon's Story Page has some interesting details that are also mirrored over at our Halo site. It seems that Bungie still might have a chance to be at MacWorld this coming January.
de/letters.shtml">Letters to the Webmaster page. It's been a while, but the update is worth your time.

November 1, 19998:30 p.m.

Halo

Some great new facts concerning the Covenant size at the Halo site today. You can also find the news over at the Story Page .
